Rafa Marquez and the New York Red Bulls are playing for their playoff lives tonight against Philadelphia. Well.. the rest of the Red Bulls will be playing.. Still not sure which Rafa will show up. (Photo by Mike Stobe/Getty Images for New York Red Bulls)
It's probably safe to say that tonight will be the only time I'll find myself hoping for a New York Red Bulls win. A Philadelphia Union loss would make Sporting Kansas City's path to first place in the Eastern Conference a bit easier.
New York won't be helped any in their quest to secure the final playoff spot by potential MLS MVP Thierry Henry, who is currently suspended for the automatic red card he received last Saturday for kneeing Sporting KC defender Roger Espinoza in the back of the head in the first half.
It should be interesting to note the performance of one Rafael Marquez tonight. The Red Bulls defender looked apathetic in New York's 2-0 loss to Sporting KC.
What will it say about Rafa if he shows no interest in tonight's match, with his team in a must-win situation?
