Welcome back to the Debate of the Week. Today, we're going to focus on something that has been in the forefront of Sporting fans' minds since the offseason started. That topic has been jersey sponsors.

The question is pretty straight forward. Who is going to be Sporting Kansas City's jersey Sponser?

Let the debate begin! Don't forget to suggest future topics!

Who is going to be Sporting Kansas City's jersey Sponsor?

This is a subject that I tend to be passionate about, not necessarily that I care who the sponsor is, but rather my belief that 1. we need to have one and 2. that it is a strong sponsor. For this reason I believe that having Google or Cisco type sponsor would be beneficial. It dovetails nicely with our technology focus at LSP. I like Boulevard, but doesn’t fit my perimeter and Sprint…I often worry that Sprint might falter massively.

Google

Sprint won’t be able to afford it. The Google Fiber project is being down here, so it’s only logical.

Sporting KC will win the 2012 MLS Cup, the Chiefs will win the 2014 Super Bowl, the Royals will win the 2053 World Series.

Google would be good

But what about Garmin? They’re local and strong.

Well, fwiw, I'd buy a jersey if the sponsor were Boulevard

and if it’s Google, I’ll just wear a light blue shirt, as I feel no local or emotional connection to google whatsoever. Do we have any idea how much it costs to do this sort of thing? I see the assertion that Sprint can’t afford it, but does Sprint really have less money than Herbalife or Bimbo bread (to pick two MLS jersey sponsors off the top of my head)?
