After a 2-0 win over Colorado, Sporting Kansas City advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S Open Cup, where they will host the Dayton Dutch Lions on June 26th. This creates a bit of a problem for Sporting, as this will become their fourth game in only ten days.
So this debate of the week will focus on the importance of the U.S Open Cup as it interferes a bit with the regular season schedule. Also, this week will not be a traditional yes or no question, but more of an "explain why" question.
So without further ado, here is your topic:
"Compared to the MLS Regular Season, to what degree of importance should Sporting KC hold the US Open Cup?"
Please explain your answer in the comments section, and prepare for debate.
