Sporting Kansas City has confirmed that midfielder Julio Cesar has received a green card, and thus, will no longer occupy an international slot on Kansas City's roster.

MLS rules state that each MLS club began the 2012 season with eight international roster slots. However, international slots are tradeable among MLS teams, and there are no limits on how many international slots any one club can acquire during the year, although slots are reset at the beginning of a new season.

The following Kansas City players currently occupy international roster slots on Sporting KC's roster: Aurelien Collin, Peterson Joseph, Neven Markovic, Oriol Rosell, Korede Aiyegbusi, and Jimmy Nielsen.

If my memory serves me correctly, Sporting Kansas City currently have seven international roster slots (one was traded to San Jose in the Bobby Convey acquisition), meaning that Kansas City now has one slot open.

The 33 year old Cesar is currently in his second season with Sporting Kansas City, having featured in 17 matches in 2012.
